Hello, I’m Rachel McDonnell!

In 2013 I started my business as an undergraduate student at the University of North Texas. Today, I have grown that business for over 10 years and I can completely say I LOVE what I do!

When I first started my business, I decided to pursue what I loved and I focused on how my passion and my purpose could intertwine. Years later, I graduated from the University North Texas with a degree in Fine Arts and years of photography experience under my belt.

Over those years, I’ve learned how to turn my passion into a career as a studio and lifestyle photographer. Now I know you’re probably thinking - What does a lifestyle photographer mean. . . ?

Lifestyle photography is essentially capturing REAL moments as you celebrate life with your loved ones! My job is to tell your UNIQUE story!

My personal approach to this method is highlighting the use of natural light to give you light, bright, and dreamy photos with elegant simplicity. I follow this same style in my studio!

For weddings, to newborn, to family, to holidays- I provide attention to detail and expertise to capture this BEAUTIFUL season of your life!

My husband Blake and I recently moved to the Abilene area from living in the DFW area all of our lives. We grew up in a small town outside of Fort Worth and both had a deep personal passion for our faith in Jesus as well as our shared goal of having a family.

One question I get asked a lot after being a wedding photographer for several years is, “How did you meet your husband?”

So I want to share our story since I get to hear all about your stories when we start to get to know each other!

I first met my husband, Blake McDonnell, in high school! We were close friends for a long time in college and when I finished school - I moved back to my hometown to be with family and that is when I reconnected with him.

We dated for three years and had 8 years of friendship before getting married. And because of that, when he asked me to marry him I knew I was going to say “YES!” because I knew - I would be marrying my best friend.

We thankfully were blessed with a beautiful little girl back in 2021. She is the center of our world and brings us so much joy!

This by far, is our favorite season as a couple! And I very much look forward to hearing all about your story next!
